My name is Brittany Nedervelt, and I would like to introduce myself as your Director. I have a Child Development Associates certificate (CDA) and have a decades worth of experience in childcare. I have always gravitated towards children. At a young age, I would babysit and help with activities at church that involved younger children. People would always tell me that I had a natural talent for working with children. Once I had my son, it finalized my life goals, and that childcare was my career path and passion. Now with three boys, and many years of experience, childcare is a huge part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I enjoy seeing the interactions between teachers and students and also seeing the conversation between students while they are doing family style dining. I am so excited to be a part of the Skipwith Family and to continue growing with the community.
Skipwith Academy is committed to supporting families and children in the communities we serve. We provide a variety of options for learning, not only based on the age of the child, but also his or her prior learning, maturity, and developmental stage. Our curriculum is based on a learning plan for meeting the emotional, physical, social, and cognitive needs of children using developmentally appropriate practices in a supportive environment.
